ISIT 2009 addresses main issues of concern within the Information Society and Information Technology. Conference covers both ISIT 2009 conference covers both technical as well as non-technical aspects of the Information Society and Information Technology. Broad areas of interest are covered in categories of IT for public administration, IT in business and IT in civil society. These broad areas are divided into simultaneous tracks covering the different aspects of Information society, Enterprise Information Systems Applications, Enterprise Database Technology, Systems Integration, Artificial Intelligence, Decision Support Systems, Information Systems Analysis and Specification, Internet Computing, Electronic Commerce and Human Factors. All different aspects may include best practice, case studies, strategies and tendencies. Innovative contributions which do not fit into these areas will be considered where they may be of benefit to conference attendees. Solicited topics include, but are not limited to: [IT in public administration] e-Governement [IT in eBusiness / eCommerce] eBusiness Models [IT in civil society] Social Software Accepted papers will be published in the conference proceedings, on paper and in CD-ROM support.
ISIT 2009 accepts two categories of Conference Paper submissions, i) Technical Papers, and ii) Experience Papers. Technical Papers: should describe innovative research in one of the defined topics. They should describe a novel contribution to the field and should carefully support claims of novelty with citations to the relevant literature. Where a submission builds upon previous work of the author(s), the novelty of the new contribution must be clearly described with respect to the previous work. Papers should also clearly discuss how the results were validated. Experience Papers: should describe a significant experience in one of the defined topics. They should carefully identify and discuss important lessons learned so that other researchers and/or practitioners can benefit from the experience. We are particularly interested in experience papers that report on industrial applications. Submissions under both categories should not exceed 10.000 characters (approx. 6 pages, 1600 characters per page). For guidelines and formatting see “Information for Authors”. Papers submitted to ISIT 2009 must not have been previously published and must not be under review for publication elsewhere. Papers must strictly adhere to submission guidelines. Authors are strongly encouraged to explain the relationship between the submission and any other related works from the authors. Student papers at ISIT 2009 are warmly welcomed. The “student paper section” at ISIT 2009 will provide an opportunity for students to a) present papers to an audience of fellow-research students and get peer feedback, b) to participate in sessions on the research process and to discuss research issues with experienced and active researchers and c) to help develop a network of contacts. Papers will be administratively rejected and will not be reviewed if they exceed the 10.000 character limit. All papers which conform to submission guidelines will go through blind peer-review by program committee members. All conference papers must be submitted electronically by July 1, 2009 (abstracts must be submitted by June 5, 2009). |
