International Conference on Information Society and Information Technology will be held in Novo mesto (Dolenjske Toplice), Slovenia, between 12-13 October 2009. The ISIT2009 conference has been developed from the conferences „Information technology in modern society“ regularly held in Novo mesto Slovenia in past three years. From 2009 the conference become more international oriented and organised by Faculty of information studies in Novo mesto.

ISIT2009 is one of the Slovenian important ICT conferences with technical research papers, experience reports, demonstrations, short papers show casing emerging topics associated workshops and tutorials.



Novo mesto is capital town of Dolenjska region and one of important economy centers in Slovenia. City lies on the green route of ancient peddlers trough Dolenjska’s beauty that reflects in varied countryside with its many hills, topped by churches, the imposing Gorjanci mountain range, the expansive Kočevje forests and the briliant green Krka.



ISIT 2009 will be held in congress center in Dolenjske Toplice around 6km from the Faculty of Information studies in Novo mesto. Terme Dolenjske Toplice boasts with rich tradition, as they are one of the oldest thermal spas in Europe. Thermal springs and pleasant surroundings of the picturesque and vineyard-overgrown valley of the river Krka have been attracting many visitors for centuries. The thermal water spring is slightly mineralised its temperature is equal to the one of the human body and it has numerous healing effects.

The International Conference on Information Society and Information Technologies brings together researchers, engineers and practitioners interested in advances of information society and information technologies. The main concern of the conference is to explore latest findings and results about mutual influence between information society and information technologies in three important dimensions - public administration, eBusiness & eCommerce and civil society.

ISIT2009 focuses on real world applications; therefore authors should highlight the benefits of ICT for public administration, industry and services, and civil society. Ideas on how to improve public administration, solve business problems with IT and how e-services and world wide web in particularity influence on today modern society, where phenomena of social networking with innovative services brings important direction, will arise from the conference. Papers describing advanced prototypes, systems, tools and techniques and general survey papers indicating future directions are also encouraged.

Papers describing original work are invited in any of the areas listed below. Accepted papers presented at the conference by one of the authors will be published in the Proceedings of ISIT 2009. Acceptance will be based on quality, relevance and originality. Both full research reports and work-in-progress reports are warm welcome.
